Back to School Drive for Catholic Charities & Circles of Mercy Many sincere heartfelt thanks to the parishioners of St Michael's and St Jude's, and the Troy Ladies of Charity for the tremendous support of our annual back to school supplies drive for Catholic Charities and Circles of Mercy, serving children in the city of Rensselaer. Adequate school supplies are essential for success in school, and the cost for families in need is very difficult. Richard Zazycki reports that 64% of children in the Rensselaer City School district are categorized as economically disadvantaged. Anele Dzekciorius and Ellen Hotz are also very grateful to the faith formation students who helped sort and package the supplies for delivery. $300 worth of school supplies were donated by The Troy Ladies of Charity represented by Marianne Mahar and Lynn Rinella. The supplies ranged from notebooks to earbuds to backpacks.
"Sleep in Heavenly Peace" Project, August 2, 2025 On Saturday August 2nd, we held our building beds project for needy children in the parking lot of St. Michael's! Thanks to your generosity and the hard work of our students, we were able to raise enough money to build 35 beds! Also, thank you to all the volunteers from St. Michael and St. Jude communities for their help building the beds. This is the most beds that we've built in any given year, and we are so thankful! Your support is greatly appreciated, and it is helping our local community.
Our new pastor, Father Joe O'Brien, meeting parishioners at this past weekend at St. Michael's and St. Jude's Churches!
