What is the Sacrament of Reconciliation?

The Sacrament of Reconciliation, also called Confession or Penance, is a beautiful encounter with the mercy of Jesus Christ.
Through this sacrament, we confess our sins, receive God's forgiveness through the ministry of the priest, and are reconciled with God and His Church. Reconciliation gives us the grace to begin again and strengthens us in our desire to follow Christ.

It's Been a While?

If you haven't been to Confession for months, years, or even decades, you are welcome.
Don't let uncertainty about what to say or how Confession works keep you away. Simply tell the priest that it has been a while and that you may need some help. He will guide you through the sacrament.
There is no need to have the perfect words. Come seeking God's mercy.

When is Reconciliation Available?

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available before the Saturday Vigil Mass from 3:00–3:40 PM when Fr. Joe O'Brien is the celebrant.
Reconciliation may also be scheduled by appointment. Please contact the Parish Office at 518-283-6110, ext. 201.
