Father James Mackey was born in Troy, NY, and currently resides in Colonie, NY. Our retired Parish Priest's education included Catholic Central High School in Troy, Mater Christi Seminary in Albany, St Bernards Seminary in Rochester and North American College in Rome, Italy. Fr. Mackey was ordained at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome on December 20, 1961. His first Mass in the United States was said at St. Michael's on Stow Avenue, Troy in July 1962. Fr. Mackey had many assignments in the Albany Diocese including St. Mary's in Hudson Falls, Diocesan Development and Propagation of the Faith Office, St. Patrick's in Albany, St. Ann's in Waterford, St. Coleman's Home for Boys and Girls in Watervliet, Executive Director of the National Council on Stewardship, St. Michael's in Troy and St. Mary's in Glens Falls. His favorite activites include dining out, visits to Cape Cod and ocean cruises.
